Notefall Privacy Policy
Welcome to notefall.com, the website and online services (collectively the “Service”) offered by its owners and operators (“Notefall”, “we”, or “us”). Our Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect information as applies to the Service.
Capitalized terms that appear in this Privacy Policy without definition have their meaning stated in our Terms of Service.
Information we collect and how it is used
Information you give us directly. We may ask for or receive information such as your first and last name, and email address if you correspond with us, or submit feedback. We may also keep any Content you Post using the Service in association with your User ID and IP address. This information is used to maintain, operate, and provide you with the functionality and the safety features of the Service.
Basic account information. Names, usernames and profile pictures are used in the presentation of profile pages and Content. We may use your email address to occasionally send you Service-related messages (see “Communications” below).
Cookies. Cookies are small files containing alphanumeric characters which are stored in your browser. We use cookies to uniquely identify your browser when you access the Service to keep you logged in. We may also store information about your preferences, record User-specific information on which of our web pages you access or visit and customize the Service based on your browser type or other information to improve your experience using the Service.
Log data. Log file information is automatically sent to us by your browser when you access the Service. Our servers may automatically record certain types of log file information. The information inside the log files may include IP addresses, type of browser, language settings, your web requests, pages viewed, referring/exit URLs, landing pages, number of clicks, how you interact with the Service and other such information. These data are anonymous and are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. In addition, we may use third-party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze such website usage data. Communications. We may use the information we receive or collect to communicate directly with you, e.g. via email. We may use your email address to send you Service-related messages (account confirmation, notifications, reminders, technical or security notices, changes and updates to the Service, administrative messages etc.). Some of these communications you may not be able to opt-out from receiving. They are considered part of the Service.
Uses of information we collect. We may use web beacons, log files, device identifiers, and cookie information to: (a) remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your current or next visit to the Service; (b) provide custom content or features; (c) to monitor and improve the effectiveness of our Service; (d) monitor aggregate statistics such as the number of visitors and traffic patterns; (e) diagnose or fix technical problems; (f) help you access information after you log in, and (g) to keep the Service safe.
How your information is shared
We may disclose information that is not private or personal, or has private and personal details removed, such as publicly available Content, traffic and usage information, aggregate data, results of statistical analysis etc. We will not disclose your private personal information to third parties outside of Notefall without your consent, except in a limited number of cases:
Law and protection. Notefall will disclose your information as required to do so by law or subpoena or if we reasonably believe that such action is necessary (a) to enforce our Terms of Service or to protect the integrity or security of our Service; (b) comply with the law or reasonable requests of law enforcement; and/or (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Notefall, our Users or others.
Your options regarding your information
Opting out of Google Analytics. Google provides a browser add-on you can use to opt out of Google Analytics, a third-party tool for tracking non-personally-identifiable statistical information on site usage.
Deleting your account. To delete your account, log in, go to Settings and click “delete account”. Your profile will become unavailable to be viewed by others. Deleting an account does not result in deletion of Content you sent to others as private messages. Some of your basic information (e.g. name and/or username) is also retained in association with such Content, by way of attribution.
Deleting Content. You can remove Content you Post from the view of others. Messages that are part of a part of a private conversation will be retained, unless the other party also deletes them.
Information safety
Your control over information. Our Service includes group messaging. When you Post Content using the Service, you make it available to the users designated as your friends. Notefall has no control over and bears no responsibility for how this information is shared and used by others. You should be mindful of the information you share and respect not only your privacy, but the privacy of others as well.
Safety of your information. We care about the security of your information and employ commercially reasonable measures to secure and preserve the integrity of information collected through the Service. Nevertheless, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Notefall cannot ensure or warrant the safety of any information you Post on the Service or send to us, or guarantee that this information may not be altered, destroyed, accessed or disclosed. Notefall is also not responsible for the security safeguards of any third party.
Children's privacy. Notefall does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from persons under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register as Users. The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. In the event that we learn we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without parental consent or verification, we will delete such information and associated User account(s) as promptly as possible.
Privacy beyond the Service
Our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service do not apply to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for practices or policies of websites and services linked from or to the Service, including any information or content present therein. Additionally, you understand and agree that we have no responsibility for and no control over any third parties that may access your User Content. Finally, note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to information we may collect by different means (including offline) or from sources other than through the Service.
Changes to this Policy
We may make changes to this Privacy Policy as time goes by. The most current version of the Policy will govern our use of your information and will always be at https://notefall.com/privacy. If we make a change to this Policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you via the email address you have provided to us, or by placing a prominent notice on the notefall.com website. Your continued use of the Service after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy will constitute your acknowledgement of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.
